When it comes to Q+A's I constantly fail to publicly reply to some questions that are too personal or that I believe other people might not want to know about as much. Somehow something clicked in me this weekend as I read through the latest questions and ended up laughing myself silly reading things like, "Do you think you'd survive a zombie apocalypse?" "Milli Vanilli or New Kids On The Block" and "How do I stop my kid from posting scripts of my rants on her blog?" (Replies via Twitter soon). I realized many of you feel comfortable and have a killer sense of humor that I adore.

For that and just because many of you have asked for it... I'll make a weekly post about the most frequent personal questions... and of course it's worth mentioning that I'm equal parts flattered and thrown off by questions about my personal style and beauty tricks. I'm not an expert when it comes to this but this is what I truly believe works for me.

When it comes to beauty, I have to go completely cliche and say that I do believe it comes from within, meaning from the soul / spirit and also from taking care of yourself, eating clean and leading a healthy life.

My current hair routine:
As probably every other woman in the world, I wash my hair every other day and try my best to take care of how I "deal with it". Some nice tricks that I got from my stylist are to choose the proper hair bands to avoid breakage, not use hard chemicals on your hair and not to blow dry it every single day.

The products I'm using these days include:
SFactor by TIGI shampoo and conditioner
Wonderful Tonight - Overnight treatment
Serious Conditioner
Creamy Molding Wax
Osis Magic Gloss Serum by Schawarzkopf
Hair Treatment by Moroccanoil
Heat Styling Protection by Moroccanoil

The deets:
I am a true believer that one's hair can develop and grow strong and healthy by just leading a healthy lifestyle... but life as a full-time designer and with all the balls I have to juggle on a daily basis, I have to admit that some days I need a quick fix. I always go for good / nicely scented hair products that I've investigated to be good. I used to stick to a brand and product for 3 months to see if it really worked for me but I found that I'm very happy with SFactor. Their products leave my hair manageable - and just like the Moroccanoil ones, you know from the get-go that they do what they say they will.

Hair products are usually on the pricey side but mine personally last for ages. I have very thin hair (nothing to brag about, right?) and I don't feel the need to smother my hair with products every day. I do periodically.

Please feel free to ask more questions below.

How does one close a beauty post? I don't know. Sorry, I feel like I'm saying this very matter-of-factly but I have zero experience in this field.

How do you take care of your hair? Must tell!

  1. I love your matter of fact attitude towards beauty–isn't that how it should be?

  2. I feel like the older I get the more "wash n wear" style I go with for my hair. I've stopped fussing over the blow dryer, straightener, and also products...which has been quite liberating, actually! I wash and condition with natural products (due to a sensitive scalp) - Giovanni and Desert Essence has been a savior and I highly recommend! But my hair stylist does recommend some sort of after treatment/serum for the frizzies which I'm looking into so thanks for the product list!! Great post!

    1. Ohhhh! I'm finally stopping by here and it's just the time when my hair needs a rest. I love this. Thank you!

  3. Loving your new Q & A segments. Can't wait to hear your opinions on the zombie apocalypse. :)

    1. Thank you, Carmen! I still have that one on my list. It's such a deep matter. Lol. xx
