COS×Market Art Fair

I just stumbled upon COS' Market Art Fair for past Summer and as everything COS does, this too is absolutely stunning. To celebrate this year's Market Art Fair, an annual gathering of leading Nordic galleries in Stockholm, they created a temporary social space and store installation inspired by the shapes and textures of the COS Spring Summer 2016 collection and by the looks of it, it was a brilliant success.

These stunning designs are part of Living Divani's new collection featuring brilliant designers: Massimo Mariani, David Lopez Quicoces and Piero Lissoni to mention just a few. Living Divani is a dynamic and vibrant family-owned company, that has successfully made its trademark of upholstery since the 1970's. Out of this wonderful Outdoor Collection I'm the most enticed by the George's Chair by David Lopez which displays a black supporting frame and wave in waxed rope, seat in solid Iroko wood — that of course, in combination with the Notes Table by Massiomo Mariani, as shown above, is a stunning work of art.

Tom Dick & Harry

Christopher Elliot is the kind and creative friend that took over Tom Dick & Harry's hospitable and minimal restaurant design. They both decided on introducing natural light and creating an Architecturally harmonious place where I'm sure, people spend their time in complete and absolute peace. I personally admire they use of wood and the statement entrance that Christopher created for the restaurant.

Florist Chair

This amazing chair has been exclusively designed for Blacktail Florist restaurant (and its sister lounge, Kanaka) in Gastown, Vancouver, Canada by Kauf and Brown. Knauf and Brown have an unnatural obsession with studying the spaces and objects that surround life. Both partners bring strong aesthetic experience from image-based practices, Calen coming from a graphic design background, and Conrad working in photography. They place a huge importance on knowing how to balance practicality with beauty, and when to prioritize one over the other. For the duo, the relationship between function and form is complex and ever changing.

Every single product made by the infinite geniuses at Menu makes me want to have  a little space in my home for them. Words cannot describe how much I want all of the above... Actually, the title for this post should have been something along the lines of "craving", "wishlist" or "dying for" but it is what it is.

I would be able to contain myself if it was only about the "look" of their products but it is their approach to the flawless work that they do and their values that keep me drawn to them like a kid to candy.

Among Menu's believes: "We believe in making design matter by combining do-well with do-good. Let's be responsible"... and that is how one falls in love.

I just came across Ruiz  + Company and I am absolutely loving their approach to branding. From their website to every single detail involving their projects it's all absolute perfection.

Studio Lin

Studio Lin is the graphic design practice of Alex Lin. Their work process is founded on a desire to explore new territory through challenging collaborations with creative visionaries in the fields of architecture, industrial design, art and fashion. By combining the studio’s analytical rigor with strong input from external forces, the resulting design is exponentially enhanced: 1 + 1 =3. This formula also permits a fluid aesthetic to prevail. Behind every Studio Lin design is a highly defined rationale but not a singular style. The common denominator is a fresh, modern sensibility that eschews the overtly trendy in favor of lasting impact.

I am.  I  also believe that passionate statements like this one can drag any Designer out of a creative block, don't you think?

 Alex Lin clearly knows what his doing and in a (hopefully not too...) weird way I feel like I want to hug this person and say: Thank you for doing such an amazing job!

Greece Is For Lovers

Conceived at the foot of the Acropolis hill in Athens, Greece is for Lovers have been avidly producing and exhibiting their products worldwide, since 2006. The creative minds behind it have introduced a new sense of “Greekness” to contemporary product design, by mixing up a concoction of their country’s spiciest ingredients:humor, irony, nonchalance and extravagance. Inspired by the stereotypical notion of what is widely held to be Greek, their designs comment on habitual activities and behavioral patterns both of the past and the present.Unwilling to compromise, the G.I.F.L. trademark aesthetic sits comfortably in the controversial area between luxe and kitsch.

NR2154 For Rika Magazine

NR2154 created this design for Rika Magazine and that first image has been allover Pinterest.  I was very intrigued to see the rest and after a little research I came across their site. This design includes a custom Rika typeface and a hand-painted display face that changes with each issue. Each issue is printed with multiple covers, to reflect the eclectic and diverse inspirations behind the brand and the collections. Contributors include Vanina Sorrenti, Olivier Zahm, Blaise Reutersward, Liz Collins, Laetitia Crahay, Marc Hom, Helena Christensen, Leith Clark and Robert Rydberg.

I simply love what they did with both typefaces specially the thin slab font with black runny ink. It is design like this that makes me want to kick butt every day and I can only hope one day I achieve something as perfect as this.
